URGENT: 6 months to raise £55'000 for Fujifilm’s mobile X-ray kit (Xair) for Hospitallers

We have 2 pieces of news today:

  • One is great: our incredible Justin Hughes yesterday, personally delivered a unique piece of technology to Kyiv.

  • Another, not so great: the equipment came as a loan from Fujifilm and we have to raise £55'000 over the next 6 months to keep it.

What is Xair and why is it so important? Xair is a portable X-ray device weighing mere 3.5 kg that can be used in out-of-hospital settings. It will greatly assist our volunteer paramedics in providing life-saving treatments to casualties during “the golden hour”. The golden hour is the period of time immediately after a traumatic injury during which there is the highest likelihood that prompt medical and surgical treatment will prevent death.

Let us quote Justin Hughes who described his interaction with this technology and its deployment in Ukraine: ”Civilian volunteers working as paramedics in the most demanding of circumstances... The fact that the volunteers were taking high-quality X-rays, after 1 hour of training, miles from any hospital, was a huge endorsement of Fujifilm’s innovation, the expertise and training of Dr Will Passmore, and the support of Allan Elborn at Fujifilm”. Please support the hard work of our volunteer paramedics and donate generously! #Hospitallers #Paramedics #UkraineParamedics #HospitallersUkraine #HospitallersUK #HelpHospitallers #Ukraine #SupportUkraine #HelpUkraine #StandWithUkraine #HelpUkraineNow
