One of our Hospitallers’ crews got into a deadly car accident

Updated: Jul 14, 2022

Each evacuation trip is a chance to save the wounded from the prefrontal zone. To help as many victims as possible in one trip, Hospitallers form a crew of paramedics which requires pickup trucks and an evacuation bus.

Kraken is the first evacuation bus in Ukraine to transport the wounded from the frontline to the hospitals in safe places. It is the largest ambulance at the front for 6 bedridden patients. Kraken's crew consists of a neurosurgeon, surgeon, anesthesiologist, neurologist, traumatologist, paramedic, driver, and firefighter.

In one trip, Kraken was able to evacuate 15 patients with injuries of varying severity, and, not that long ago, Kraken managed to evacuate 23 wounded people at once.

However, yesterday a vast tragedy happened – Kraken, with a full crew of Hospitallers onboard, got into a terrible accident in which our paramedics were severely injured. One girl, a firefighter with the call sign "Austrian" after 30 minutes of fighting for her life, unfortunately, died. The entire crew is now in medical facilities and will later need rehabilitation.

Our Kraken carried out its mission, and took out as many wounded as it could - and that's dozens of lives saved. #Hospitallers #Paramedics #UkraineParamedics #HospitallersUkraine #HospitallersUK #HelpHospitallers #Ukraine #SupportUkraine #HelpUkraine #StandWithUkraine #HelpUkraineNow
