In the Kharkiv region, Russian military forces targeted an evacuation vehicle of the "Hospitallers" medical battalion with a drone. The paramedics were on rotation and evacuating the wounded at the time. After this attack, paramedic Oleksandra Mulkievych, "Mike", died.
We have many things we could say about this incredible person, but the words of our Hospitallers speak best.
"...I have never met someone who could truly do everything! All our mutual acquaintances spoke of her as a “universal fighter” who never refused to help and could handle any task, any project, all while creating the most pleasant atmosphere you could ever experience."
"We worked with "Mike" in the same sector with adjacent crews in June, and we quickly became friends. Sadly, I had so little time to know her. "Mike" was an incredible person, a driver, a combat medic, a crew commander, and simply a conscious citizen of our country. She was always motivating others, and always eager to learn, improve her skills, and develop herself. She always took care of her crew and more. When I was going out as a senior for the first time on a medevac in June, she supported me and our entire crew at every stage — from preparing at the base and getting the vehicle ready to simply asking, "How are you?" and offering tea at the stabilization point after a difficult evacuation. She was not afraid to support and guide the newcomers in the battalion. She was a role model both at work and outside of it. She was always ready to go, and she inspired everyone else to move forward too."
"When meeting such strong yet delicate women, the phrase "Women have no place in war" disappears from your mind... Heroes do not die."
"Mike," we will miss you so much. We already do. And the pain tears the heart apart. Wonderful, kind, smiling, strong.
Eternal memory and glory to the heroes of Ukraine who gave their lives for the lives of others.
