In addition to the precise science that Ruslan has researched and implemented all his life, he is also a reserve officer and a lieutenant colonel of the Security Service of Ukraine.
However, from the start of the War, his desire to be useful here and now, and as effectively as possible. This led the scientist first to the volunteer formation of his native community, and then to the ranks of the Hospitallers volunteer battalion.
"Why the Hospitallers? Rational application of my knowledge and experience. By education, I am a molecular biologist, biochemist, and biotechnologist. Medicine has always been close to me. For about ten years, I conducted biological research: working with both victims and corpses and biological material.
Pharmaceuticals were also close to me because I checked the quality of medicines for over six years.
There was an understanding that I would be more effective as a combat medic. I believe that I will be more useful working with my hands than sitting in the headquarters."
