On January 30, 2025, during the evacuation of civilians from the Donetsk region, a BASE UA team vehicle was hit by an FPV drone.
Most crew members sustained minor injuries, but Eddie, who was the driver that day, took the brunt of the impact. He suffered severe injuries, resulting in the amputation of his left arm and leg. He is currently in the intensive care unit in stable condition and receiving critical medical care.
Eddie has dedicated the past three years to helping others, repeatedly risking his own life. Now, it's our turn to help him. A fundraiser has been launched to support his recovery. All those who wish to help him can contribute to the fundraiser via the link. Any additional funds will go toward further medical expenses, rehabilitation, and other related costs.
Eddie faces a long road to recovery, and he will be unable to work during this time. Therefore, part of the funds raised will help cover his living expenses during and after rehabilitation.
Thank you all for your support during this difficult time. Eddie remains strong and in good spirits. The support page for Eddie will be updated to keep you informed about his condition and any further news.
