Hospitails: Delivering Care and Safety to Animals in Need

About the Mission

One of the key Hospitallers’ efforts has been helping animals in affected Ukrainian regions for many years. They have been providing care for those vulnerable and unable to survive without human help, sending teams to treat and rescue animals.

For over six months, Hospitallers had been preparing a large-scale veterinary aid initiative dedicated to rescuing and evacuating animals from affected Ukrainian areas. However, the destruction of the Kakhovska Hydroelectric Station in 2023 pushed them to take immediate action.

Now, the team of compassionate veterinarians and volunteers operates a fully equipped mobile hospital and evacuation bus. They make sure animals receive care and find new homes in safe areas. Once rescued, the furry friends are cared for by experienced animal volunteers who help them transition to their new lives.

Why This Mission Matters

On June 6, 2023, the destruction of the Kakhovska Hydroelectric Station left countless animals in urgent need of help. Though Hospitails was still in its early stages, the team of veterinarians and volunteers quickly mobilized to rescue and evacuate affected animals.

During this mission, they not only conducted evacuations but also provided medical care, vaccinations, and food while assisting overwhelmed local shelters. This unexpected beginning laid the foundation for Hospitails, transforming it into a well-coordinated initiative now equipped with a mobile hospital. They have since helped hundreds of animals find safety, care, and loving homes.

Every life matters, and Hospitails is dedicated to giving each one a chance at safety and care.
